Organic Forms from
Mechanical Origins

Tempomachi was created by Jen Zariat as an expression of the connection between organic and mechanical forms, interpreted through symbols and metaphors.

The word Tempomachi is derived from Time Machine... the overall concept of these projects is to create timeless objects that could often have been created in the distant past or future. Themes include explorations of intangible ideas such as time, death, wealth, power, access, growth, communication, and the inevitability of change.

Materials are sourced from broken and discarded machinery, including clocks, keys, computers, televisions, and other found objects. Frequently the materials are vintage or antique, used as a way of enhancing the goal of an anachronistic aesthetic.
